Collage Search

Part 1

  • I don't care how big the collage is.
  • I want to go to a collage that isn't that far from my home.
  • I don't care if it's urban or rural.
  • I would like to go into engineering.

Part 2
  1. Go to bigfuture.collegeboard.org and find three collages I like.
  2. Compare these collages on a chart.
  3. Look more about the collage that I picked.
  4. See what requirements to get into that collage.
  5. See what classes they have.
  6. See if they have FASA and scholarships.

2-week Activity Feb. 18, 2014

What have you learned about yourself and your preferences based on the two-week activity?

I learned that I'm still unsure about where to go for college. I'm thinking about going to an community college first, but I might just go to a 4-year college. I prefer to go to a cheap college. One that isn't in a urban city. I hate the big cities since it's easy to get lost. I can't decided whether to go to a public or private one. I learned that a private one can be cheap if I get a lot of scholarships. I will think it over. I still have many questions left unanswered. If I go to Muscatine Community College, what classes can I take that the credits will transfer over to Iowa University or Amens?

Upward Bound Jan. 28, 2014

The fundamental purpose of Upward Bound is to help students prepare to take the ACT or SAT and help get into collage.

I say there are a few reasons why UB isn't a club. UB is an organized organization created to help high schoolers. UB is in many different states and is associated by the US department of education. Its also a federal TRiO program. Those who are interested in going to collage can join. Last of all, before joining, students have to fill out a packet concerning family fiancee, yourself, and etc.

Nov. 19, 2013

I agree with Obama that people should have medical care. What I don't like is that it forces people to have without their approval. The republicans in my opinion don't care much about the people. They are business men I believe. Even if they avoid the discussion now, someone will probably bring up the topic again sometime in the future.
I don't think that one side of a story can be truer than the other since each side of the story has many different reasons for going against or in favor of the bill.

Upward bound Nov. 5, 2013

1. Why should high school students care about reading texts critically?

Reading is part of our life in a way. People need to learn to read to find out many things like get from your house to a game store by reading a map or understand more difficult words in a sentence or book.

Everything's Relative

1.The point of this excise is to see how we think. See if we get the meaning of the text.

2.What made this easy is that they give use clues. They also gave us a graph for us to cancel people and other stuff.

3.

4. I read it step by step. I cross out the ones how aren't there sons and daughters first. I then match the siblings together. That made it a lot easier. That was how I figure out the first part anyway. The second part was a lot harder. It would have been practically impossible to do the second part if I didn't do the first part first.

Who I am

I am a normal male student going through school and hope to go to collage. I joined upward bound because my sisters are in it and help me find a way to go to collage without getting a loan. Colleges cost a lot these days. Mostly ones not in your state.
